Well Summer is almost here. This THE BEST time of year to start eating more raw, vegan and healthy. Why? The warmer weather means more fruits and vegetables are available in season. Additionally, we tend to be less hungry and can eat lighter with more success. We can get into a groove eating simpler, whole foods throughout the Summer and by Fall we will have ingrained this healthy lifestyle, such that unhealthy and processed foods will not be nearly as appealing as they once were. Here Natasha discusses cooling off in the summer:
THIS MONTH'S RECIPE
Incredible Energy Smoothie
2 ounces of baby spinach leaves (approx. 2 handfuls)
1 cup of destemmed fresh strawberries
3/4 ounce of fresh mint
2 packets of stevia (or to your taste)
1 serving of vegan (rice based) chocolate protein powder
12 ounces of cold water
Blend all ingredients for approximately 1 minute or until smooth.
Serves 1 - 2. Serve in a frosted glass for cool Summer refreshment. Great to power up before or after a workout!
