Now is the best time to stay vigilant eating raw foods. As the cooler weather sets in, there may be temptation to resort to heavier cooked and comfort foods. I would suggest searching for more raw recipes to keep things interesting, as well as more exercise to keep your metabolism up. Also, don't forget to stay hydrated even though it is not as hot anymore. Enjoy life and stay active!

THIS MONTH'S RECIPE

Middle Eastern Spinach Salad!

4 ounces of raw spinach

8 Tbsp your favorite hummus

1 Tbsp of olive oil

1 oz. pine nuts

Black pepper

Turmeric

On two chilled plates arrange the spinach leaves flat and covering the entire plate. Place the hummus in the center of each plate forming a small depression with the bottom of your spoon. Sprinkle the pine nuts into the depression in the hummus. Drizzle olive oil over each salad and add black pepper and turmeric. Enjoy!

Serves 2. Each serving contains:

325 calories

136 grams fat

12 grams carb

8 grams protein
