Avocados Have Protein And Fiber!

fresh sliced avocados and other raw foods

Avocados are one of my favorite foods! They are considered a "superfood". I make fresh guacamole almost every day and have it with some flax crackers and fresh tomato for a really nutrient packed lunch. They are a great source of fiber, as well as carbohydrates! In addition this superfood is a great source of omega 3 and omega 6 fats, as well as vitamin K and folate. They are also a great source of vitamin E, B6, and vitamin C. Mineral content includes zinc, copper, magnesium and potassium, all while being anti-inflammatory!

Here is the nutritional date from one medium sized fruit:

Calories 227, Fat 21 grams, Carbohydrates 12 grams, and Protein 3 grams. Each one also has 9 grams of fiber. I make my fresh guacamole by adding 1/4 of a small white onion (diced) and a dash of paprika. Mix with a fork and you are good to go!

Lisa and Melissa make Tortilla soup using avocado!
