The weekend of August 8th and 9th should be a great one at the 2009 Chicagoland Veggie Fest Naperville, Illinois!

Veggie Fest Chicago 2009 is happening on Saturday, August 8, 11 am - 8 pm and Sunday, August 9, 11 am - 7 pm on the grounds of the Science of Spirituality Mediation Center, 4S 175 Naperville-Wheaton Road, Naperville, IL 60563. Check it out. Cooking demos with free samples; 40 food vendors, restaurants, and exhibitors; health talks by medical professionals; even an "Ask the doctor" booth; children's programs with crafts, games and activities; plus live music. WOW! All of this with no admission charge. I'll be out there on Saturday learning what I can and volunteering to help some friends who have booths. I'll take some pictures and post them after the event! UPDATE: It turned out to be a great event! The weather was a little overcast, but then turned sunny. It was really hot and humid. I set up our Raw Food Meetup tent since I was the first volunteer. There were a lot of visitors to our tent. We shared it with another meetup group, the Vegetarian Meetup, and I made some new friends! We were really close to stage, so I got to hear some good music, and that could also be why we had so many visitors. We were almost out of flyers by the end of my shift, and still half the day to go!
