Now I must admit I am a little biased here, as I am battling (and winning) my bought with type 2 diabetes. But staying vigilant is a necessity as this disease is very stubborn. In fact it is no wonder to me anymore why type 2 diabetes is on the rise. There is sugar in practically every food we eat. And in processed food it is the bad sugar, high fructose corn syrup. This is in everything, from soft drinks to condiments, to canned goods. Even canned fruit, which already has nature's own sugar.
Excess sugar in the blood is the root cause of many diseases from diabetes to heart disease to liver failure. Here is how I avoid sugar in my diet:
I use stevia to sweeten when I have a "sweet tooth" craving. Stevia is a natural sweetener made from the stevia plant. It will not spike your blood sugar. I use it to make protein puddings by mixing it with avocados and nut butters!
Enjoy the sweetness of nature by eating berries, apples, bananas etc. for dessert, instead of baked goods and processed junk food.
Snack on nuts and seeds, which are tasty and satisfying. Even though they have fat, they are not particularly fattening, unless eaten in excess. This is because they contain the good, unsaturated fat, including the omega 3's.

Bright and Heart Healthy Salad:
This raw vegan salad makes a great lunch!
1 medium ripe tomato
1 medium sweet red pepper
1 clove of garlic
1/4 white onion
1/4 cup of cilantro
extra virgin olive oil
Dice all the ingredients into appoximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch squares. Then dice the garlic even smaller. Toss together in a big salad bowl. Drizzle about 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the top. Mix again and divide into two equal and smaller salad bowls. Serves 2. For some Italian zest, add some oregano and basil flakes! Lots of vitamin C, antioxidants, and low cholesterol! Enjoy!

If you, or anyone elso you know has type 2 diabetes, or is prediabetic, you really should invest in the DIABETES REVERSAL REPORT! by Barton Publishing. I have invested in it myself, and have really enjoyed the great information and advice. By following the just a few of the recommendations in this ebook, I have lowered my average fasting blood glucose by at least 10 points over the last month. This has taken me from the pre-diabetic level down to the borderline of "normal", and I'm looking to make even more progress. A tremendous amount of background and understanding of this disease is in this book, as well as practical and proven methods to battle it NATURALLY. There is emphasis on eating raw foods, but not 100%. There are great diet suggestions and even exercise tips as well. There are a few typos and grammatical errors, the author is no Shakespeare. But the insight and practical advice is great. 77 pages of great info. Highly Recommended! DIABETES REVERSAL REPORT!
